Mission Abruzzo! I set off to visit my friend Giulio and deliver a freshly crafted masterpiece: the Michelangelo 4×5 mk2 in olive wood (yes, you heard that right, it’s a real gem!). We arranged to meet near Rocca di Mezzo, and that’s where the adventure began: a hike uphill, under a sun that was frying us like eggs in a pan, all the way to the top of Monte Revecena. But it was totally worth it—the breathtaking view spanned the Velino Sirente mountain range and the Fucino plain.

Of course, Giulio wasn’t one to miss out on anything: in his backpack, he had both the Michelangelo 4×5 and his trusty Leonardo 8×10 mk2, which he’s been using for a large-format project. And yes, you heard that right, he carried both of those giant cameras on his back! Brave? That’s an understatement! 😅

Missione Abruzzo! Sono partito per andare a trovare l’amico Giulio e portargli un piccolo capolavoro appena sfornato: la Michelangelo 4×5 mk2 in legno d’ulivo (sì, esatto, è proprio un gioiellino!). Ci siamo dati appuntamento nei pressi di Rocca di Mezzo, e da lì è iniziata l’avventura: una camminata in salita, sotto un sole che ci cuoceva come delle uova al tegamino, fino alla cima del Monte Revecena. Ma ne è valsa la pena: il panorama era da mozzare il fiato, con vista sul gruppo del Velino Sirente e sulla piana del Fucino.

Ovviamente Giulio non poteva farsi mancare nulla: nello zaino aveva sia la Michelangelo 4×5 che la sua fedele Leonardo 8×10 mk2, con la quale sta lavorando a un progetto in grande formato. E sì, avete capito bene, ha fatto tutto questo con due fotocamere giganti sulle spalle! Che dire… temerario è dire poco! 😅
