After the 4×5, 8×10, and 11×14 formats, could an entry-level 5×7 camera be missing from the Air Force group of the StenopeiKa family? Certainly not, and so today, I am here to introduce you to the worthy successor of the Hyper Camera 5×7, which will now retire to make way for the brand-new Air Force 5×7.
Like its predecessor, the Air Force 4×5, the newcomer also shares some features with its larger siblings, the Air Force 8×10 and Air Force 11×14, such as lightness, portability, and ease of use. Once again, the Air Force platform proves to be a truly flexible project that even hints at the possibility of even larger formats than those presented so far… so stay tuned!
In this case as well, it’s an entirely different camera from the previous one, with a rear part that follows the design of the Air Force 4×5, 8×10, and 11×14 models, ensuring super rigidity and stability during your photographic sessions. In this case, I have also added horizontal shift to the front (which, I remind you, was only indirect on the Hyper camera) and both fast and precise focusing for even more comfort during the focusing phase.
What makes this camera extraordinary, however, is the fact that while maintaining the same dimensions and weight as the previous one, you can now have a minimum extension so minimal that it allows you to use wide-angle lenses from the smaller format (i.e., the 4×5) on this camera without a recessed lens board. This is excellent news for those involved in architectural photography. Plus, an extra centimeter of maximum extension, now reaching an impressive 53 cm, will delight portrait photographers.

Ovviamente no, e quindi oggi sono qua a presentarti il degno erede della Hyper Camera 5×7 che da oggi andrà in pensione per lasciare il testimone alla nuovissima Air Force 5×7.
Come la capostipite Air Force 4×5 anche la nuova arrivata condivide alcune delle caratteristiche delle più grandicelle Air Force 8×10 e Air Force 11×14, come leggerezza, trasportabilità e facilità di utilizzo. Una volta di più la piattaforma Air Force si dimostra un progetto davvero flessibile che lascia anche immaginare formati ancora più grandi di quelli per adesso presentati… quindi preparatevi!
Anche in questo caso si tratta di una fotocamera completamente diversa dalla precedente, con una parte posteriore che ricalca i modelli Air Force 4×5, 8×10 e 11×14 che garantisce una super rigidezza e stabilità durante le tue sessioni fotografiche. Anche in questo caso sulla parte anteriore ho aggiunto il decentramento orizzontale (che ricordo sulla Hyper camera era solo indiretto) e la messa a fuoco sia veloce che di precisione per avere ancora più confort durante la fase di messa a fuoco.
Ciò che però rende straordinaria questa fotocamera è il fatto che mantenendo gli stessi ingombri e lo stesso peso della precedente, adesso potrai avere un’estensione minima così minima da consentirti di utilizzare ottiche grandangolare del formato inferiore (cioè il 4×5) su questa fotocamera senza piastra rientrante, quindi ottime notizie per chi si occupa di foto d’architettura, e 1 cm in più di estensione massima che adesso arriva a ben 53 cm, per la gioia dei ritrattisti.
