Then you know very well how uncomfortable the recessed lensboard.
I understand that most photographers are content to go out only when there is a beautiful sunny day, but have you ever tried to go out with a large format camera when it is snowing and cold? You find a nice tree and you want to take a picture, take all your gear out of your backpack, put everything on, but the hardest part is yet to come. The beautiful tree is very close and you are forced to use a 90 mm … with the recessed lensboard… a nightmare!!!!
You will have to take off your gloves, the cold will cause you to lose sensitivity in your hands and you will have to try to load the shutter into the small slot…
The pleasure soon turns to torture, but I have found the solution!

Allora sai benissimo quanto sia scomoda la piastra rientrante.
Capisco che la maggior parte dei fotografi si accontenta di uscire da solo quando c’è una bella giornata di sole, ma hai mai provato ad uscire con una fotocamera di grande formato quando nevica e fa freddo? Trovi un bell’albero e vuoi fare una foto, togli tutta la tua attrezzatura dallo zaino, monti tutto quello che c’è da montare ma la parte difficile deve ancora venire. Il bellissimo albero è vicinissimo e sei costretto ad usare un 90 mm… con la piastra rientrante… un incubo!!!!
Dovrai toglierti i guanti, il freddo ti farà perdere la sensibilità alle mani e devi ancora caricare l’otturatore mettendo le date nella piccola fessura…
Il piacere si trasforma presto in tortura, ma ho trovato la soluzione!
